President Signs Continuing Resolution Through December 9, 2016

On Thursday, September 29, 2016, Congress passed and the President signed a continuing resolution (CR) to fund federal agencies and government programs through Friday, December 9, 2016. The CR approves funding at existing FY16 levels with a few exceptions. The bill also approved funding to address concerns from the Zika virus. After approving the bill, Congress adjourned to campaign for the November 8th election. Congress will return for a “lame duck” session on Monday, November 14th, during which it will focus on funding the government for the remainder of FY17, which began on October 1, 2016 and extends through September 30, 2017.
